Benefits of Kundalini Kriya Yoga

​The practice of asanas or postures brings about healing in the physical body and builds strength and flexibility. Those who practice daily always have a youthful appearance. Its seems the aging process is slowed down. Mastery of a posture is by being able to hold it for a long time with stillness and calmness in the body and in the mind. When coordinating a posture with the breath, tremendous healing energy is generated by prana or life-force energy.


Practicing asanas in this way is a from of meditation which is an introduction to focus and concentration. If the benefits are instantly noticeable and impressive, imagine what it must be like to do the higher states of yoga; Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Dhyana (meditation)! Stillness of mind, clarity of thought, generation of ideas, lowering of the heart rate, arresting the ageing process, …

Yes, it is the quickest path to self-realisation/ moksha/ liberation. It burns the seeds of your negative karma and raises your spiritual consciousness/ vibrations. Asanas help prepare the body to sit in mediation for long periods of time. The asanas also helps strengthen the nerves and the nadis to cope with the extra prana generated when practicing Kundalini Kriya Yoga. It is akin to electricity flowing through wire. The wires must be strong enough to carry the voltage and current else it will burn out.


Anyone can learn these techniques, now. They are performed sitting with your back straight and simply breathing and meditating. There are no complicated or difficult postures! Once you are taught the techniques, it is up to the individual as to how much sadhana (practice) they do and how often. The more regular and longer you sit in meditation the better. However, even 5 minutes a day of meditation is better than none!


Yoga means Union with self and the higher Self. There are many paths to achieving eternal bliss or happiness or self-realisation. Kundalini Kriya Yoga is simply the fastest. The difference between Kundalini Kriya Yoga and pranayama (breathing techniques) is that in Kundalini Kriya yoga one breathes through the spine, the central channel, the Sushumna.
