MahaShivratri (2018): The Yogi’s New Year

MahaShivratri is the most auspicious day for all Yogis and all those who meditate. The evolutionary energies are most prevalent on the darkest night in February, Tuesday 13th, 2018. This day is given to meditation through the day and overnight. When the spine is vertical the energies can rise. Special blessings from Lord Shiva (Universal Consciousness), Adinath, the first Yogi and Parvatri (Universal Mind), to all those who practice their Kriyas and meditate on this night. Most fast through the night until day break.

Preparation takes place a few days before MahaShivratri: more Kriyas, more Asanas, more Meditation and a cleansing vegetarian diet will help with meditation. So, stay awake, meditate, do japa of Shiva mantras, especially through midnight at least.

MahaShivratri happens once a year but Shivratri happens before every new moon each month. However, to Lord Shiva, MahaShivratri happens every moment. See explanation from Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath video below:
